My name is René Brunner. I started my spare-time shareware business in 2000 under the name of "Dreamshare" and released the first commercial product in April 2003, for the German, Austrian and Swiss markets. In summer 2005 I started to address a worldwide audience with my first English-language product, Gwendolyn the Given Name Database.
Beside shareware I also offer free information about given names on two websites (BabyNames.ch in English and Kunigunde in German) and some freeware.
I have studied computer science for 4 years at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and graduated with a university degree that in English would probably be called "Master of Computer Science" or similar. I have since worked for more than 25 years as an IT professional in Switzerland.
I live with my wife in Erlinsbach, a little village near Aarau, more or less in the middle between the two Swiss cities Zurich and Bern.
